The Nativity of the Theotokos

Today we celebrate the birth of the Theotokos. Those who have had children can imagine the absolute excitement of her parents, Ann and Joachim, and the joy that the birth of their daughter brought them. The birth of their daughter still brings us joy, because she then gave birth to Our Lord.

On today, this very special day, we can ask Mary to intercede for us, bringing our requests to her so she can take them to Jesus. Perhaps she'll be granted them as a birthday present!
