The Venerable Macarius the Great
Today we celebrate the Venerable Macarius the Great. Macarius was a younger contemporary of St. Anthony the Great. Macarius lived a life of asceticism beginning after his wife's death and for the following 60 years. He was known for his great humility, so great that even the demons commented on it. He was also known for his gift of miracle working, even raising people from the dead.
May our humility be so great that even the demons comment on it! St. Macarius, pray for us!
Programming note - our platform does not allow for direct response to comments. We do read them and are praying for our listeners. God bless!
