Weekly Gospel Reflection
“And Jesus said to them, ‘The chalice that I drink you will drink; and with the baptism with which I am baptized, you will be baptized...’ “ - Mark 10:39
How does this excerpt from yesterday’s Gospel stir your heart? Does it stir feelings of hesitation and intimidation? Or maybe feelings of peace, reminding you that Jesus will strengthen your heart to receive His chalice and baptism.
At some point in this life, we, who have been baptized in Christ, will face the moment(s) of total self giving love, the moment(s) where our hearts painfully shed that selfish layer and only expands in Love. May we always remember to seek Christ’s aid when we find ourselves facing that precious moment to drink from His chalice.
