Barrenness Fulfilled
This week Fr. Michael talks about examples of barrenness in scripture and how the Lord fulfilled people's requests. He talks about wanting to get to the cross without suffering, but how it is through the suffering that we grow with Christ.

This hit at just the right time for me. I have returned to Catholicism after 30 years literal blashpemy against Christ and the Church. The first month or so back I felt His love and presence. Lately I haven’t been. I have heard that Jesus will pull back his consolations from people, not as a punishment but as encouragement and a reminder. Love Him for who He is and what He has done for you not for what he can do for you. As I struggle through this moment of feeling of spiritual bareness, I must remember that it will bear fruit. Last night I watched and older episode of Pints and it was mentioned that St. Mother Theresa felt spiritually dry during most of her life yet she bore much fruit and was blessed with the greatest fruit of all; to go home to Him as a blessed Saint. I am perhaps the furthest from a Saint but I have so much work to do and so much to look forward to. Thank you for this and for all that you do for us.
