There is a tradition of having your house blessed as part of the celebration of Theophany. The priest will visit and bless the rooms of the house, the people who live there, and pray for their relatives who have died. There's a similar tradition in the West on the feast of the Epiphany which includes writing on the doorpost with chalk.
