The Dormition of the Theotokos
Today we celebrate the feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God, and we can use today's feast to reflect on the dignity of body, and the union of body and soul. Our body isn't just a series of cells that we discard after death. No, in Mary's Dormition we see the dignity of the body as her body and soul were called to heaven.As we celebrate today and break from the fast, let's remember that both our body and soul will be called to heaven. Let's ask for Mary's intercession to live a life which reflects our dignity.
