The Holy Martyr Sebastian
Today we celebrate the feast of the Holy Martyr Sebastian.
St. Sebastian served in the army, and during his time of service did his best to release Christians who were under his supervision. Those he couldn't release he exhorted to uphold the faith as they were being martyred.
St. Sebastian was martyred during the reign of Diocletian for his faith. He was shot with many arrows, and managing to survive them, he was then clubbed to death.
St. Sebastian encourages us to live out our faith in small and quiet ways. He also calls us to be witnesses of the faith to the Christians around us. Our small witness can encourage them to carry on in their faith.
