Feast Day, Saints -

St. Onuphrius

Today we celebrate the feast of St. Onuphrius!
St. Onuphrius was a hermit who lived in Egypt. He lived the aesthetic life for many years, and learned the aesthetic life from another elder living in the desert. St. Onuphrius is known for being very hairy, and possibly also very naked, using just his hair to cover himself for modesty.
St. Onuphrius is the <span>patron saint of Sister Onuphria, formerly of the media team. You can hear her talking about naked saints including St. Onuphrius on our episode, What Naked Saints are Not (with Sister ???).
