The Venerable Martyr Anastasia the Roman
Yesterday was the feast day of the Venerable Martyr Anastasia. (Of course the celebration of Divine Liturgy usurped this feast.)
Pray for Luke, Sarah, and Baby!
You guys, our very own Sarah from our media team is pregnant! And due imminently!
The Holy Apostle James
Today we celebrate the feast of St. James, son of Alphaeus, one of the twelve apostles. St. James is mentioned quite infrequently in the Gospels, which makes reflecting on his life here a bit challenging for me the writer. :-)
The Month of Mary
Yesterday we celebrated the feast of the Holy Protection of the Mother of God and we dedicate the entire month of October to Mary. How do you show your love and affection to Our Lady during this month?
Pray for Mother Natalia Tomorrow
Tomorrow is Buy a Nun a Beer Day!
Does anyone remember this story?
The Exaltation of the Holy Cross
This Thursday we celebrate the feast of the Exaltation of the Cross. St. Helena, mother of the Emperor Constantine undertook a pilgrimage to Jerusalem in hopes of finding the true cross. Each year, we celebrate the finding of the true cross and venerate it due to the redemption won for us by Jesus' death on it.
The Holy Prophet Moses
Today we celebrate the feast of the Holy Prophet Moses. There is much one can say about Moses. One of my (Beth) favorite stories of Moses is when God calls him to go talk to Pharaoh and free the Israelites.Beheading of John the Baptist
Tomorrow we celebrate the Beheading of John the Baptist, the Holy Forerunner. He preached with boldness, such boldness that he paid for his boldness with his life.
